Willard and His Bowling Trophies: A Perverse Mystery by Richard Brautigan

Willard and His Bowling Trophies: A Perverse Mystery is a novel by Richard Brautigan.  It was published by Simon and Schuster in 1975.

Set in 1970s San Francisco, the main character is a papier mache bird sitting in an apartment with a collection of bowling trophies stolen from the home of the Logan brothers three years earlier.  The human occupants of the apartment are John and Pat, who have recently seen a Greta Garbo movie.  Their neighbors are Bob and Constance, an unhappily married couple.  While searching for their missing bowling trophies, the Logan brothers become angry and vengeful.
